Finally my untold hours trolling CL paid off. The pacific northwest is pretty competitive and you have to be either quick or lucky. I was more the latter since one guy was there before me and said it was too big :-)

Looking for a silver Conion on a rock bottom price I made a three and a half hour round trip based on a tiny cell phone pic. But that's ok :-D

All original including antenna tips and dark back case. All working except needs belts. One grill is really rusty. I'm giving up on the tape tray right away but if I find knobs in any color within a year I'll be happy.

One thing I want the group's opinion on: The top stickers are of course coming off but on the side is a backstage pass. I think it's cool and adds value plus is a unique identifier. Anyone think I should remove it?

They're the best buys in my opinion. Long journeys to check out unknown boxes on tiny/blurry pics or vague descriptions. That's what I really love about this collecting.....taking the gamble to potentially grab a bargain....I get a bit anxious on the way to buys like this one......you just never know, you could get beaten to the buy or it could be a massive POS. But man it's so satisfying when it pays off and you get yourself a Grail like this one!

And that vintage sticker is pretty cool IMHO......if it were mine I'd leave it.

Nice buy!

Good score frontside! Your patience has paid off. I would leave that Metallica right where its at, adds some old school character to the box, plus I graduated high school in 92, and Im 40  But besides all that, I think its cool right where its at

Congrats on a spectacular find! That right there my friend is the essence of collecting. I'm fixin' up one of those right now. Lovin' the leaf on top! :weed:
Still waiting for my big CL find, I haven't seen much down here so far this year.

I'd definitely leave it on.

My Aiwa J88 came with the point of sale DSL sticker on top as well as previous owner applied sticker from one of my favourite now defunct software developers (Hudson Soft) and even though the radio is easily the most cosmetically mint radio I own (it's like out-of-the-box condition) I'd still never remove the Hudson Soft sticker.

Sometimes the previous owner's lineage and history needs to be preserved, and that's what I'd do with that Metallica sticker.
Leave it on!

Rock On.
