Hi,I just installed my woofers I got back from Floyd, and I might add he did a fantastic job on re-surrounding these bad boys.
Well after soldering back the leads and giving it a quick little cleaning on the outside I fired this thing up in FM as I cleaned the decks throughly a while back but just need to buy belts for this thing.
The sound is stupid!!😮😮 I mean I've never heard such bass out if a Boombox!! I mean I never went above 4 1/2 as this thing kicks Royal a**!!

Yes I've heard Telefunkens,M-90's,and many other hard hitters but this thing is ridiculous, most impressive deep down low bass I've heard in a Boombox! Yes I have the DT-680 as well but that bass is different, tighter, not as low!

A crazy beast and now for 2 antennas and a tape door A.
Thanks again Floyd, you've made my super grail come back to life and now I have hope for fully restoring thus flagship of 3 Piece Toshiba!!😎😮😀💳📻📟🎼

These WX-1 sound a little sloppy when the speakers need doing. When they're done they sound like a hi-fi. The transformation is dramatic.

Congratulations on the completion of a very worthy restoration.

I have never heard the WX-1, but they look sick!

Great to see we still work as a team at Boomboxery!

The best move you made was restoring the original speakers. 3 piece units like that one with cabinets tuned for bass with passives need the original speakers in place to ensure the passives resonate at the correct frequency to pump bass - well done! I bet it sounds great!

James.... :-)

Good job guys. The WX-1 is surely one to be reckoned with!!
Love the loudness slider control on this box and the bass is one of the best in a three piece.
I miss mine but boy i don't miss the weight of it.
Good luck with the decks Jeff, they are quite a pita to work on

Makes me miss my Toshiba SX 1000 was only half as loud as the WX 1 but it was the most beautiful boom box I ever owned

Hi Frank, thank you! I'm surely getting this thing restored, tape door A- I may have a handle on,not sure yet though.
Needing 2 antennas and would like to get as close to factory as possible.
Oh and it needs 2 mic covers to.
As far as the decks go ,both will work but I cleaned off the decks and got all the old rubber goo and everything off so it just need a belt kit for these 2 decks.
All motor functions work and what not so im pretty sure with belts it will work.
The music scanner light is on and at 0 as it should.
I'm hoping the belting job isn't to bad.
Thanks again and Floyd, you had a 1000 and let it go?! So damn rare, must only be or heard of maybe half a dozen in the US!😮😎

SX1000's are quite colorful and I really wonder how many are in the US?! WX-1's are fairly rare also.😎📟💳📻🎼

These are awesome. My pitbull is a bass machine but these are so "rich" sounding.
