Woofer swap in my HK-9000

So I'm looking at my HK-9000 and her sun dried looking speaker/woofers.

I had these components under my bed and thanks to JVC Floyd helped me out on how to remove the old woofers.

After all was said and done I played with her for a bit and was happy with the end result. Didn't have the specs on her cuz I really wanted to know what the sensitivity of these drivers where but the bass is punchy and clean. I left the original tweeters in there and are more pronounced now. For now they'll stay this way unless somebody out there has an extra set of speaker boxes for this radio empty or not. Let me know what you guys think and thanks to JVC F! You made being a member on this site a lot more better. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

looks great man :thumbsup: those component woofers look like great quality speakers similar to mb quarts looks awesome with the red accents a cool looking monster box.

Thanks guys. I love this beast. Dubbed it "Big Black". She sounds even cleaner after I installed the cross overs and tweeters in it that came as a complete set. It's a joy to listen to especially with (at the time I bought them) $200 set of speakers. She's a keeper for sure. :thumbsup:

The plastic has rings built in to it that converge into the woofers, so by adding those black woofers not only is it a cleaner look overall, but it gives the appearance of even bigger woofers in there! Also, just visually comparing the magnets of old vs. new, it must really kick now compared to before.
