If my power button looks like this, do you think it'll ever sit in there properly again?

the tabs that pivot the switch are broken off , i used jb weld putty to make new tabs for my power switch for the vz 2000 .

just knead it together and form it into a roll then attack portions of the roll to the ends where the tabs are broken ,make sure the putty grabs onto the plastic very well so it wont just peel back off . when its dry just file the tab down round and trim them to fit the mounting point and check for operation and strength . i did this and it worked perfectly .
you have to pull the front cabinet off the vz because you can't get the metal brace that spans the power switch off because there's no room so you have to pull the front case off.

I just used a cut off nail and glued it on with 2 component glue. Works fine ever since  .
Actually I also had to glue the power switch tiself - it was kind of a pain in the ***  .
Believe me, if i could fix mine, yours is a piece of cake
