Why we need to save them !!

I have a small collection of walkmans that i really like
and was sad to find this at the recycle centre recently.

I would have definately liked to have added this one to my
collection and plus it is such a shame to see them end
up this way. It makes me wonder how many have ended up
in land fill !!! Such a waste really

It hurts to see a beautiful piece like that trashed. :'-(

I really don't want to think of the senseless destruction of all the walkmans and boomboxes that no doubt happens everyday somewhere in the world.

It's sad to see a nice Aiwa damaged like that-if it wasn't damaged, then it'd be something worth keeping.

It's worth keeping.. You might run across a nice one that needs a button. Or you could try and fix it up as-is without the door. Just something to experiment on instead of working on a nice one first-thing.

Of course it is thinking like that that got me where I am today... lots of "extras" "just-in-case"

New here, I frequent the thrift stores in my area and pick up nice Sony Walkmans and Discmans, especially from the early 90's and late 80's. Today I picked up at Goodwill, a Sony WM-F100 with original battery charger and AA adapter, and carrying case, all in the original packaging. It had been used before, it came with one exploded AA and one dead AA, vintage Energizers from early 90's.

I have a collection of 80's and early 90's discmans. I've got some pics of it if anyone's interested.
