How can people be so stupid to ship something so terribly packaged????

Honestly, I don't get it? Where is common sense?

Nightmare! :sadno: They need to give a full refund based on ridiculously poor packing.

No help to you now but every time I buy one off ebay I send the seller a message asking them really nicely to make sure they pack it really well and so far I've had no damage on any. Not that it helps you with this one, sorry.

Bodywork isn't that bad to fix...I did a lot to rebuild my Sharp GF9000 and it came out well. So it can be repaired if you're prepared to put in the time and effort...depends on the quality of the sound as to whether its worth it tho.

Not nice to eagerly await a box only to find its been damaged by idiot sellers

Hope get a partial refund then gonna unscrew the speakers and get them looking straight again then just wrap some black electricians tape around to hide the damage. Other than that I don't know what to do :-/ . Gonna have a look at your GF post for some inspiration :-)

My GF-777 arrived in crumpled newspaper from an :ebay: seller. I got nicked for $100.00 shipping on that one. I don't care if it's comin' from Hong Kong or Hoboken, you spend $100.00 for shipping you expect to see actual shipping material.

Same as my 767! Paper! :annoyed:

What is it about the big ones? My motto is get as much padding in the box as possible...I never feel like I've done a foolproof job...I worry about them all, no matter how big or small, complete or parts. :hmmm:

Right Guys bit of an update, here's the e-mail I sent and the reply I got from the seller,

Dear windypops44,

I received the boombox today. Both speakers are damaged on the corners plus one speaker has cracked open. It's your responsibility as a seller to make sure any package such as this item is well packaged. This isn't the case here. Why didn't you pack it in cardboard after the bubblewrap? It would have saved it. To me this boombox is ruined. Look at the photo attachment for the proof. Would you like to receive an item in this condition? I see you don't accept returns so i'd like to know what you intend to do to resolve this situation. I look forward to your reply.

Regards, Mark.

Dear st24mark,

Hi there, I'm sorry that the product was damaged - if you send it back I will refund you including the added postage. I did find your message a little bit aggressive and I hope we can sort this out calmly
Thanks Catherine

I don't think I was aggessive, I was just stating the facts. If it wasn't for her (rolls eyes) lack of packaging i'd be enjoying my latest boomer.

What do you think of the chances of her letting me keep it if I ask more calmly to save on messing around with postage/her being out of pocket?

I'm afraid I tend to agree with her, I would've taken that as slightly aggressive. I always go in nice as pie on the first contact as go in too hard and you instantly get someone's back up...I run a citizens advice bureau so I negotiate stuff all the time.

If i were you I'd go in super nice explaining that I was a bit upset at the disappointment and ask nicely. Being super nice always works better in these situations than being a bit miffed. If someone's arsey with me then they get arsey back :-D

Hope you get it sorted Mark :-)

My "calm" can I have it for free? e-mail :-D

Dear windypops44,

Hi Catherine and thank you for your swift reply. I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize about the slightly aggressive e-mail. I was so disappointed when I realized the boombox was all bust up, i'm a collector but on a really tight budget. I still really like it, so to save you and I time, effort and money might I suggest you refund me what I paid for it (£11.01) and I keep it. You'll be out of pocket enough with the double postage costs anyway and I don't like that because you must be a good seller/buyer with your 100% feedback rating. I hope you like my suggestion and thank you for your kind offer.

Regards, Mark.

That's spot on Mark IMO...if that doesnt work nothing will...being nice always works best in my experience. At the end of the day it'll cost her nearly that to get it back then she's stuck with a box she can't sell. If I were her I'd refund it to protect my 100% rating as its only 11 quid and a good ratings worth more than that.

Good luck mate  Keep us updated :-)

Yep that sure s--ks. But I will tell you this. No matter how many times you ask for a certain way of packing these idiots still can't get it right  hope you get your refund ;-)
