I knew it! We all grew up drinking from the garden hose on a hot summer day as kids, and We all turned out okay. Well, most of Us here did. :-D

Bottled water is the BIGGEST scam going on today. The mark-up alone is in the neighbourhood of %400!

The plastic used in the the bottle is high in Bisphenol A (banned in infant plastic products...tells you something)

Many bottled company use municipal tap water and send it through the SAME treatment processes. Check Desani (Coke's water) and Aquafina (Pepsi's water) both use tap water!

Kirkland (Costco's brand) has 20 mg/L of Sodium in 500ml bottles giving it it's taste. Ordinary salt

Tap water is the BEST source of water. Don't like the taste...put it in the fridge. Taste it again after a few hours..

How do I know.....This is what I do for a living.

So what you're saying is that even by going out and buying the bottled stuff, fish will still have taken a leak in it? I wouldn't ever risk water straight from the tap, only boiled and turned into tea or coffee, preferably with added rum just to make sure that all of those germs are properly dead. ;-)

:-) The fish have been pissing in our waters for many years John..bottled or not. I don't know about your local system but ours is monitored and enforced BIG TIME.

I wouldn't risk bottled water... :nonono:

Rum on the other hand is something we can agree on...except I drink it with out mix so It'll kill the nasty germs in my gut first

Boiling is ok, but it doesn't get rid of lead and other heavy metals. Some districts tap may be the safest unfortunately. A lot of the filters filter out too much from the water all the important minerals our body needs. If your water is filtered too pure it will actually leach out these minerals from your body (aka distilled water diet) to find its natural state and that is BAD over time.

I've done sooo much research on this water sh*t trying to figure out the safest way (yep folks that's what a good case of reoccurring cancer will do to you, make you good and paranoid!!!) From what I've figured out, our bodies need the water and mineral balance with a slight alkaline leaning as that's what our bodies have been accustom to drinking from creek beds and river/streams for all of eternity. Its just modern overpopulation/pollution that has created this unfortunate scenario where that is now unsafe.
