Why do people "lose" the metal trim on the PH492?

Every time I see a Fisher PH492 on Ebay, it's missing some of the aluminum trim on the front panel. And this is a big, heavy 3-piece unit that nobody would take outdoors. So how can someone "lose" that trim? OK so it falls off, big deal, have you not heard of glue?

Same question with Sharp GF-555 trims, most i´ve seen for sale or in the internet are missing at least one trim. This photo is taken from Stereo2go.

I'd put those people above the C-100F owners who break open the deck door to save their precious Duran Duran tape..

Yeah I can see it happening on those boxes, because they're 1-piece boxes people take outdoors.....But a PH492 ???

Problem is that usually only some of it starts coming off and is noticeable but many people didn't give a shiat about looks so aloud damage to occur without repairs 😞. Of course none of us ol' timers never even thought these would be worth anything 30 years later 🤔
