I don't see the balls moving appropriately for the note changes....could it be midi triggered?

Or a well rehearsed sequence to a backing tape :hmmm:

No real keys...thats one...

He may actually be bouncing the balls off the board and the board is set to react to the strikes. (Each stike being the note.) Given that it's a you tube video and that fact that server connections and the general nature of data, the video may have a slight delay to the audio.

But no way he does that on a "real" setup. The keys would have to be at least a foot and a half wide to allow for variations in the throws.

No. It's totally fake. I paid careful attention to the notes and where the ball bounces and while he makes a valiant attempt at keeping true to where the ball should bounce for the desired note, it's clearly fake since some notes did not match where the ball was bouncing. Also, it's not a normal keyboard and must be a custom prop since none of the keys actually actuate like a normal keyboard.

this guy performs this act all over the world and has been on leno. he might transpose his keyboard so it does not matter if he flubs a note here and there. i dont really care the guys a awesome juggler good on him for finding a way to earn a living doing what he loves to do.

i am pretty sure he has modified a keyboard mat i have seen for sale before. its a pretty cool little act the guy has. i mean to be honest i cant see why he would bother to go through the trouble to make a keyboard like that and not actually be performing this piece of music. i mean if he wanted to cheat why not just go all the way and fake playing some elaborate bach of mozart piece. its pretty cool not matter what tho. i mean how many people who are talented in some way ever get to the point where they can show people all over the world what they can do.
