I DO!! Some super obscure some not...  This is my rock/heavy rock rotation, always looking for more. No doubles in pics, all hand written cassette labels are factory cassettes missing card - no copies in this group.

I'll try to take some pictures of the more cool ones and add them later - some of the early death and gore metal tapes have the coolest covers!!

Topic title is misleading... I was hoping for a classified ad.. I was ready to buy some "devil music"

ok, now that I looked at all your tapes..... Damn, that's a collection!! :w00t: Prong, Scorpions, Zeppelin.. I would rock every single one of those tapes! Even seen a Body Count in there..

What box would you say gets the most "tape play"? That you think tapes sound the best on..?

Sorry to mis-lead you bud, I may be up for a trade or sale though.

I use a couple low-end Nakamichi decks for playing my tapes. BX-100, CR-1a, I even have a 480 all were purchased for less than $20 (one was free :w00t: ) and they play perfectly. I've only had to rebelt one of them the BX-100. The CR-1a had a bad transistor easy fix. the 480 can eat tapes you have to make sure the take-up reel turns when you hit play then its fine.

They pop up for sale cheap from time to time and well worth the purchase, Ive tried other decks, yamaha (studio), Sankyo, Marantz, Kenwood, hitachi, sony, and a few others and none have been able to hold up to the constant abuse like the naks do. So far anyway

I usually have the line out fed to my M-X720 sanyo, its my favorite looking/sounding. Some don't have line-in or require the record button pushed or have a bad input - lots of my boomers have major issues so its not a tough choice for now.

If I need a portable to play 'on the road' I grab the sharp GF-8585 or GF-6262 I've rebuilt the mechanisms and swapped the gooey rubber wheel with RC Car fuel line to good success. IMHO they have the best designed cassette mechanisms, built tough.

I used to be all about Dio, Dokken, Def Leppard, Accept, Poison, LA Guns, Pantera, etc.

The trouble with pre-recorded cassettes though, is that their tape quality is rubbish, and a lot of owners left the tapes inside a hot car, where they became warped and exposed to humidity.

I've thrown out my share of tapes, sure. Once I brought home a huge box of 'em that was evidently left outside for a year and about half of them were worbly sounding garbage....and yes, you have to look and make sure that the little piece of felt is still attached. :-O

BUT - I have also found concert ticket stubs from the 80's stashed away in the folds of the cassettes. And I'd say most of the cassettes still play well. Sh*t most of these tapes were damn near free :-/

I rather enjoy the quirks like hiss, bad spots etc while listening it cracks me up. In fact I've recorded most into itunes, you want a real laugh, burn a CD of these songs and check out friends expressions when they think the CD player is eating the CD on a bad tape recording

Thretris - sure man, put together a list and PM me.

Oh, here is some alternative/punk too:
