Who is going to by that $3500 near mint M90 on EBAY now?

I only wish I had that kind of money. Isn't this a steal? I always hear about that $4500 mint M90 that was sold to someone somewhere. Why aren't all those bidders that drove it up to $4500 buying this box. It looks like its in excellent condition.

Its a little concerning that the record function doesn't work though. When I ordered a rusty (and questionably looking) M90 deck from EBAY, the record function worked perfectly.

Dont get it twisted... a mint M90 has no price ceiling. Id pay 5 grr for one if i had to.
But ceilings do have standard requirements.
Unfortunately this particular seller has structural, electrical, and ventilation issues in his ceiling.
It is with great confidence I advise all newbies and lurkers to steer clear of this listing and this seller.
And to be clear...there was a more than mint m90 that sold for north of your figure, and his, by a member here... and I guarantee it was worth every Lincoln.
If anyone has a problem with me interfering in this possible transaction....I'm waiting...

I have a m90 in the same condition but would never dream of asking that kind of money...... No boombox is worth that, it's all hype!

My $50 M90 is in better condition than his and record works ;-).

Steer clear bros. This M90 he is selling WAS already supposedly sold on ebay. You can find the old listing. He also has a few accounts on ebay to elude people.

3,500 for any boombox?
To each is own on that one!!!
I paid near 1000.00 for my minty M-90 and I
Almost instantly had buyers remorse.
Not that the M-90 isn't a great boombox, I just don't see the value.
And so far as the seller of this box is concerned I have to agree with the rest, beware buyer beware!!!

Wow that is good to hear. I thought a remember seeing similar photos (with the snow in the background on a porch railing) for another big box. I forget which box it is...but it very well may have been the "other" M90.

I paid $1200 for a completely working m90...record and all ($900 for box + $300 in repairs). The cosmetic condition is very good in my opinion...but far from mint.

I have had no buyers remorse at all. I would do it again any day. I use this box everyday...whether I'm playing cassettes, listening to the Oakland Athletics, or just the radio. The sound that this box produces makes me smile! I have 2 girlfriends without a question!!

OK, we know this seller and...well that whole story.

That radio is of good quality BUT the top trim is still dented and scuffed and there are some signs of marking's here and there.

The record setting M90 was "New In Box". That is the ONLY reason an M90 should bring those numbers. Unopened, unused, all accessories.

Not a clean, polished BUT CLEARLY USED radio.

Sorry, I give it 3 Thumbs Down!

Actually, even the record M90 that was sold wasn't new in box. It was used with box and original paperwork and accessories. It was pretty close to mint, but there was significant wear around the power button. The perceived 'value' from that high auction price was in the remote, manual, tape, fully working/serviced, and original packaging. The M90 by itself is a $1200-$1500 machine based on sold statistics on record.

Here is a front shot of the lot from that auction:

^ yes, that it was. Something about $xxx amount of the selling total was to be donated, right?

The more people are willing to pay for an item the more the items will sell for, seeing the same thing with older Precision Power car amplifiers lately. If no one buys eventually the sellers will start lowering the prices.

Prices will go up, prices will go down, but long-term they will go down, if only because the number of interested parties will slowly decline.
