Which box ?

Hi guys, my first post..

I know there are many variables to consider, but on the whole, which of the two boomboxes should I fork out for..either:

Panasonic RX-5250 (Black and silver)
or
Panasonic RX-5500 (Silver)

All opinions welcome!

Really, the 5500 is better build? Is that because its slightly older than the 5250? I'm only asking because the 5250 LOOKS far better build quality in pictures than the 5500...?

I have owned both and can tell you the 5500 is built like a tank. The 5250 is close but the 5500 feels bombproof.Don't take my word for it though it's your choice☺

Hell no I'll take your word for it if you have owned both, can't argue with that at all.
Briefly, what about sound differences between the two, any clear winner there?

5250 has Ambience and a bit more bass, but the 5500 has better build quality and is more rare. The 5500 is so tightly packed that it weighs exactly as much as a Crown 850 which is a much bigger box.

5250 bass is warmer, but 5500 speakers are tighter and better for guitar and vocals.

Yeah,5500 is much better quality and don't come around as often as the 5250.

having owned both previously and now own another 5500 ive got to say,hands down that the 5500 is way better.the build quality is second to none.the sound,whereas not as bassy as the 5250 its more refined and esy on the ears.so,the 5500 is my clear winner
