List several of your better known boomboxes that, for whatever reason, almost never gets used.
For me:

Not in any particular order
(1) VZ-2000
(2) CF-580
(3) Big Ben
(4) Sharp GF-777
(5) Sanyo M-9998
(6) Sanyo M-X920

Bobby. Can you share whether there is some reason about the C4 that it gets unused? No good sound quality? Other better boxes to play with? Is it even a box worth having in a collection?

The C4 is another visually beautiful box from Sanyo. However, for me, the sound is just not as good as other boxes I have (especially compared to the C7 and C9) - and it even has a nominal EQ. :-/ It might help if it had bigger and better woofers though. The ones in the C4 are only about 4 inches even though it appears that the C4 has much larger woofers.

All of mine get taken for a walk except the Philly Mag Elephant.
I'm afraid I'll accidently bang it
and because it's so weird looking, people might not understand it's complexity.
No one ever made a T-shirt with the elephant on it.

I hate to repeat this, because everyone's read it way more times than they want to, but...

Over half of my boxes are in a self-storage locker, several miles from here. When it comes to usage, they might as well be in Siberia! I visit them less than I used to visit my great uncle when he was in a nursing home. Fortunately, there isn't much dust floating around inside the storage roomette (not much air, either), so the boxes stay pretty clean. The belts and speakers get dry rot, but the boxes themselves stay clean.

As for the boxes privileged enough to reside at my house, one of them that I hate the most and use the least (if ever) is the big, black, empty Crown SZ-5100. Right now it's underneath my Oreanda RM-203 S (Ukrainian), where it will likely stay for years. It makes a very nice support/display stand! And, yes, the parts of it not covered by the Oreanda do get full of dust... which I don't remove. Why bother?

I have love for all my boxes, unfortunately there are some red headed boxes in the bunch though. My PH-492, RX-CT900 and Sony CFS-65 reside in the garage so they really get no respect right now. Since I keep my Aiwa 990 in a T-Shirt at the back of a shelf behind other boxes it rarely sees the light of day.

I would say it would be my JVC DC33L turntable box. I don't use it much, unless I feel like breaking out the vinyl.

Unfortunately, all do. But they all get a frequent dusting as well. I try to rotate all of them to have voltage run through the circuits regularly. :-D

...I only have 10 boxes, all clean and diplayed on shelves in my office. They are rotated weekly so all get played. I don't know how you guys with 50 boxes or more do it. I love being able to see all my boxes in one place to admire their beauty and listen to them when I want. It would drive me crazy having my boxes stored in some facility unattended and unused. So any of you with grails you don't use feel free to sell them to me.. :-D ...cause they will get used plenty!! ...and Norm I would be happy to take those 2 Sanyo's off your hands....

When you are swamped with 50 or more boxes it gets slightly boaring after 5,6 years of the same thing.

I dust them off once a week and rotate.
But I'd have to say my boxes closest to the ground collect the most dust.

Well Melly 50 boxes is not usually so much that you need a storage unit for them, I'm guessing Norm might be over 100. :hmmm:
