Hi all!

What a great site! Don't know how many others there are in the UK using this forum but I'm glad I've found it.

Love the terms and conditions, too much serious shite going on in the world to have to put up with it in my spare time.
So, here I am, come and take the piss and you'll get as good as you give.

I've joined 'cause I miss and love my ghetto blasters from the past (I'm nearly 40) and was not aware that there were so many people active in keeping it all alive.
Just taken a good look at some of you posing with your stuff and ****, some of you should think about bottling your excess cool and selling it.

I have posted again since my first how-do, but it's gone missing.

There's loads of Brits worth mentioning on the ghetto blaster side of things. The Queen and Stephen Hawkin are well known for laying down the vinyl and cutting up some shapes. In fact, with the right crown on, "Her Majesty" can windmill like a Motherfukker. It's true, really.

In terms of what I had "Back in the Day", Panasonic RX's were pretty cool in my book but not a "Biggy" by any means.

While I'm still up; I assume that all the good stuff in the US is 110V?

Is it possible to mod 110V gear so it can run on the far superior (and deadly) 240V english flavour?

Yes. And without modding it. You simply need a step down transformer. (240v to 110v) The only thing you will need to watch is that some older U.S. spec boxes run 60hz vs the 50hz used in Europe. However, this will not affect a majority of boxes as common components were used whether it was 120v/60hz or 240v/50hz.

Whats the story behind the thread hijack?? Have I missed the plot? It seemed to kick off 'cause we were talking about brits on the forum.
Can't wait to get access to the FS board. Just from the avatars it looks like there's a lot of hardware still available in the states. I'm loving the pic of the guys house with the whole famly, truck and hi-fi collection stacked up.
Is the majority of stuff I'm seeing all original or are manufacturers getting on the "Bring back" wagon?
