What's your bassiest smaller sized box?

Hi Guys,

We all know how bassy the big boy boxes can sound with their huge 8 & 10 inch drivers but how many small boxes out there can also go low and hold their own despite their small size?

From my collection, my choice would be the National RX-C45.

With the 5 band equaliser, you really can crank up the bass and treble and pull down those mids to create a much 'bigger sound' than should be possible from a smaller unit with little 4 inch drivers and no clever 'bass tubes' or bass ports!

So what's your favourite 'small box' for sound quality and nice bass?

Kinda cheating here because they speakers I have hooked up are ported.. Same size as originals, same ohms.. But these suckers pound! :breakdance:

I sold mine to Skippy but the Telefunken CR8200 is a force to be reckoned with....but that might be a little bigger than the size you're talkin about.

The Telefunken CR8200 kicks some bass for sure.

My Aiwa TRP950E isn't too shabby in the bass department either.

The Pansonic RX-5085 easily has the best bass response of any similar sized onepiece radios in my collection, though it's more a smaller midsize than a 'small' boombox.

Sizes are growing :) For absolutely the best bass I can really recommend this one! It's actually much smaller than the (also really good!) D8614! Nikko NPS-50. I think it's my only box with a good sub bass.
