Hi Guys,

Spotted an interesting item on Ebay the other day. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 1138527183

It's an Hitachi TRK-9150 that has a 'fault' - you only get a loud humming noise from both speakers when you turn the unit on - the noise increases and decreases when you turn up or down the volume.

Now take a look at this photo of the rear of the unit and let me know if you spot a possible cause of the above fault:

Yep, the seller has connected both speaker wires to the microphone input connections

If you are bidding on this item, keep in mind it doesn't really have the fault mentioned. I tested my TRK-9140E briefly and yes, you get a horrible noise when you turn the unit on on tape mode.

Good bidding,

James.... :-)

Yes, you may be right. It is a pretty easy mistake to make though if you're used to most other 3 piece units that require rear speaker wire connections.

Actually those cables dont need to be connected at all when the cabinets are attached to the boomer. The hatches are making contact on this one. The cables are needed just when using em separeted  Normally they sitting forever not used in the slots in the back of the cabinets
