My name is Paul. I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. I'm diehard vinyl junkie that has slowly started collecting cassette tapes again. I just picked up a boombox, Panasonic RX-4950. I took it apart to clean and see what kind of work was needed since the belts are toast. I started looking for manuals online to get the belt configuration and ended up here! This will be my first of many boomboxes so any pointers would be greatly appreciated

Hi Paul! First point of order is to replace the belts and Deoxit all the knobs/switches from the inside (will help if any are scratchy). Belts, though getting hard to find can be obtained. If the belts are still in there, and not melted, can be measured and obtained from various sources online (google, I use vintage-electronics.org).

Thanks, I have cleaned everything with Deoxit. The belts were all melted unfortunately :(. I bought one of the packages off of Amazon with multiple sizes but now I am not sure how to route them??

if you take a picture of the tape deck for where the belts go on I'm sure somebody can direct you on the routing of the belts.
