Can someone please tell me why the asking prices on these are so high? I bought one of these brand new in '03 at Best Buy for $129.99. It was tough as nails and survived several canoe trips, but I remember it having pretty mediocre sound. I'm not interested in picking one up, just curious about the prices - I mean, why bother at prices like that? People are buying them.
Mine was stolen in a break-in, along with several thousand dollars worth of studio equipment, jewelry, and all my beer back in '06.
If anyone has one, please tell me what the deal is. :hmmm:

Most of the studio equipment was my roommate's, though I was gutted to lose my Roland MIDI. My roommate was in tears over an Alesis unit that was a gift from his dad. The beer was insult on top of injury. Most was covered by our renter's insurance. That was the final straw - The City of Lowell was my home for many years, but we both moved shortly after.
Anyway, I still want to know the appeal of these (I use the term lightly) boxes.

Well it's better than when someone stole my aunt's van who was visiting from Canada. They found the van 5 weeks later with the case of Labatts they brought with them fully intact!
