I dont know if this already excists here on the Forum but Brownlow brought me on the idea for this topic:

We all have our own ideas how our dreambox should look and sound like and which features it should have, i think that there is a big market for a high quality boombox with all the old features from the past and the new from today..

I am wondering: If you had to design your own personal Boombox, how will it look and sound, how big will it be..what will be the minimum power, what features should it have..what material shoud be used and maybe you have any other ideas?

It should play tapes. But it should also be able to record onto those old tapes in an enhanced, modern way that makes it sound better than a CD. Make it sound so good that average people comb through thrifty stores for old blank tapes, just so they can hear this great new sound.

blu_fuz , that picture is awesome. I know the boombox, but what is that speaker to the left? It Looks like a high quality old school design.

Yes, i have seen that and its awsome, but what i really ment was to virtually build a completely new box that answers to all our standards..i have seen the new Lasonics on E-BAY and also here at the Forum and i hope i dont offend anyone but it wouldnt be a box where i was looking for when i would get the oppertunity to buy a new one....i am more or less thinking about a box that breaths quality and is made of high quality material and has all the old and the new features from today and has a top finish with the materials that were used in the past(like aluminium and wood trims etc).

When I first got my M70 back in '80, I would always try to design my own. My dream box would have dual cassette, slide equalizer, graphic lcd display and analog VU meters, 10'' woofs (chrome dust covers of course), cone mids and horn tweeters. It would have a sub system similar to Bose's wave radio, so the box's dimensions would make it deep. The overall size would be pretty intimidating. JVC's RC-M100 Concept would have been a close dream box for me.

White speaker to the left is a 12" Sansui S-930  . Makes the neighbors run to my house when they hear me jammin out  .

Thanks

Now that I think of it, a Conion C100F is like the Wheely and M90 combined :hmmm: - discuss.

Massive, one piecer, one tape, black matte , 10 inch woofers , round tweeters, huge leds - one per each channel and 10 leds at least (better blue color whit last few red). One central small handle and a strap for carrying around. Tough shockproof body from modern plastic (used for PA equipment) , some splash proof too (we need em on the beach  ). Not hungry on batteries - some modern power efficiency. Why not some solar panels recharging batteries (there are some hardly visible and shock proof already). Pretty stealthy look - just bumping leds (sorry no chrome caps :-P ). And quality build not cheap. And we can trow some money for that  .

I have had this idea for a CD mixer Turntable Boombox.
For DJs on the go that want to start a party in the park or on the street
and cut a fresh mix where they stand.
what do you think?
