I think M90 is the most sought after bbx by any collector :hmmm: But I think the discolite is the hardest to find clean or even super clean because of build quality ;-)

Hmm, I think, for me anyway, the answers depend on whom you ask. My most sought after boombox is still the Helix HX-4635, the Marantz CRS-55, or the Sansui FX-300.

Ask 50 people and you will probably get 50 different answers. :-D

The Conion C-100F has to be a contender in this!
I agree with badboybill the M-90 and that crazy Discolite
are rare!!! :-O

VERY much an 'each to their own' answer but.....

I guess the big ones that people tend to seek are the Sharp GF-777, JVC M90, Conion C100, Toshiba WX-1,Fisher 492 etc.......

Personally I'd love A Crown 970

If ebay is any indication, the JVC M90 and Conion C100F seem to fetch the highest amount on a consistent basis so those 2 have to be at the top of a majority of collectors lists.

I think the 'most sought after' from a casual's point of view is a DiscoLite. I'm convinced a lot of these sell to people with no ambition to collect any others.
But the most sought after from a collector's perspective has to be the Toshiba BomBeat40.

Rock On.

i would rather have the rx 5350 than the bombeat 40 any day rare or not .

i think the most sought after boxes are the ones the in most of the big grail collections people see on here because once people see these boxes they are sought after ,it's that simple .

example

jvc rcm90
jvc rcm 70

conions most all of them

lasonics

big black ghetto blasters

hifi boomboxes

telefunken studio models

toshiba bombeats

basically anything big and cool is sought after  .

Yeah i would agree the most sought after seems to be the "Discolite"
suppose the JVC m90 is the Boy,but never seen one in the flesh & not impressed with the look of the box but guess it wasn't built for the look value like
the Disco

but the Sharp GF777 and Conion C-100f is a must on everyones list, its got it all looks sound build quality.

To be honest the Conion does the lot for me and is probably my most sought after boombox on my list.

so please santa

ive been a very good boy this year :angelic:

Someone say C100? Got a bit of a C100 shop in the basement right now. A Clairtone, a Helix, a C100F and 3 C100FF's. Some are in various stages of restoring so I have knobs off and cases apart, etc for a few but I had to get a quick group shot. Finding that repair/restoring them at the same time actually works well for me on some things. Of course having no schematics or reference it's nice to have 2 open at once if doing belts or anything inside. Only 1 has a larger issue of no audio at all, other just need cleanups and belts and the standard issues we see with these.

Tell santa to drop down the chimney and fireplace in the back of this shot and he can grab one. :-)

I'm sorry but you're all wrong.
The most sought after Boombox of all time is the "Cheapy"
It's light weight and easy to carry but very very hard to find!
