What did I do? GF777 loud hum (sounds like a short)

So late last night I was in the middle of filming a music video and naturally we were using some of the big boxes. We were playing the 777 and I moved it from one spot to another taking care to be as gentle as possible, like I am with ALL of my treasured boxes. When I put it down on the ground the impact (I'm talking slight impact) was all it took for this terrible humming to start. It sort of clicked first, hummed and clicked again when I flicked it off. I instantly turned it off and checked pretty much everything I could short of cracking her open. I flipped it on again and click click HUMMMMMMMMM click click... OH MY GOODNESS!!! WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!!????? GOD HELP MEE!! Needless to say I was distracted for the rest of the shoot. I'm going to open it up tonight. Any suggestions on what to look for?

I am beyond bummed right now...

Look for a loose connection or cold solder joint. This is the simplest thing that could possibly happen. Also check your boards for any stress cracks from years of slight flexing etc. What a lot of people forget is that these are plastic boxes with plastic parts inside that go through cycles like anything else and wear out. :-)

. That is correct! Check all connectors and see they are well connected and ground connection also.
