What Day Is Your Boomboxes Birthday???????

Hi everyone-I've been looking inside my boomboxes as I repair or whatever and I noticed the dating wheels.
My M-90 was born on: May 21st. 1983' Oh what a great day that was!!
My M-70JW was born on: September 12th.1981' Another fantastic day!!
These boomboxes are quite special,you know all boomboxes are quite special in thier own way!!
Let us know your boomboxes birthdays.
You should clean & polish your boombox and put a brand new set of Duracells on their birthdays!!

My 880 hasn't had batteries in it for over 12 years, don't even know if it works on batteries, lol have to check the date will get back to you

Well then Tony you need to give it some Tender Care-Give it some Duracells and go out camping sometime or just crank it up in the shed or something.Maybe the beach in a special place!!
Heck 1981'-1983' were the best years of my life-PERIOD!!
That's one of the reasons these things mean so much to me!!

I graduated HS in 83, I finally brought my boxes into the house, Linda didn't like the idea that I had the AC in the shed running just to keep the electronics cool, so now they are in my bedroom, once her daughter and the baby move out the extra bedroom will be set up with a shelving unit of some type and I'll hook up my stereo in it. Don't see a date on my 880, I looked at the pics I took when it was part don't see the date molded into the plastic anywhere either.

The Aiwas may use a different method all Sharp,JVC,and I think Panasonics use the pointer wheel embossed into the plastic back usually.
I like your Aiwa-is the 880 the top one Tony or was the 990?
I don't know much about the older Aiwas.

That's cool,I graduated 1981' so actually 81'-86' were some of the best years but 78-81' wasn't to bad either!!
The good old days!!

Not sure about my boxes,but my dad got my GF9500 about 6th august 83 for my 13th birthday so i assume its about that age..

I had never even heard of the 990 before joining S2go, I believe the 990 was an older model not sure, in the brochure I have the 880 was the top one

This is kind of apples and oranges because they are so different. Having both and I'd have to say the 880 is a higher end model but the 990 is a very clean, classy box with understated looks that was obviously intended to be top level as well. The 880 just fits our style a little more, (big bass and hard core looks) while the 990 looks more like it belongs with an older mellower crowd.

I found a B-day on my trc975 of July of 1993 (which I have had since new), so happy b-day to it. My trc931 over half the date is cut off but i had that since new also!!! The only other dates I have found was on the deck motor of my panny rx5010 of aug.1982
