Well here's the story.
About a year or so ago I noticed a boombox for sale on ebay. The box itself didn't interest me too much but as I scrolled through the photos I noticed something the untrained eye would easily have missed. In the corner, tucked away, out of view there was something that looked like the handle of another boomer.
Upon seeing this I sent the guy a message to see if he had more to sell or if he was a collector. His response was that he had many, many boxes tucked away and that he probably had one of the biggest collections in Australia!!!!
Well, after this piece of news I tried to keep in touch and one thing after another I lost contact without ever meeting him  . The other week I thought I'd try to get back in touch but unfortunately all the messages in the ebay account had been deleted by the Mrs and I couldn't remember his username :sadno:
Then, while looking on ebay again, i noticed another box for sale. Lo and behold it was him!!!! I messaged him straight away and suggested we meet up and maybe he could offload some excess boomers on me :-D .
This is a couple of photos from what was on the table when I arrived snapped with the camera phone. He reckons there are a hundred or so in the roof space but he knew I wanted something nice so he pulled these down for me to look at!

This is what I brought home with me, fully working but in need of a good clean and detailing, the Panasonic RX5350

Awesome!!!!!!! I've always wanted one and after a really thorough clean it'll be an 8 out of 10 for sure. It doesn't have any major battle scars and after a good polish some of that pitting on the chrome should come out alright :-D

Nearly forgot! Found this in the boot of the car too when I got home

   This will come up more or less minty. As you can see, it's never seen a battery in it's life. The deck needs repaired but thats a job for my tech guy.
They didn't come cheap but I wasn't robbed blind either. I think I paid a fair price for these and given the fact that I was able to test them and not have to worry about shipping them it was an even better deal. There may be more to come in the following months, the other boxes on the table weren't for sale but I told him to call me before he sells anything nice :-)
