Hello everyone, I'm having a weird problem with the cassette deck: when it's powered by batteries everything is fine, when it's powered by AC the play function works, but the ffw and rew buttons won't stay pushed.
The difference I noticed is that when AC is used I hear a click from the deck (the solenoid I guess), when on batteries I don't hear that click.
Looking at the schematic it's obvious that there's a switch inside the AC plug which send the power to the board respectively if the plug is in or not: that switch is tested working.
So, the only thing I could think about is that with the 15v of the batteries the power is right, while with the 17v I get from the transformer the extra power makes something wrong happen.
I then acquired a voltage step down regulator to lower the input from the AC (transformed to DC) from 17v to 15v. The regulator is working fine, but even with the same amount of voltage as the batteries the problem is not solved!
I really don't understand what is the issue, from the schematic diagram it seems clear that nothing else that the power supply voltage can make a difference in the functioning of the deck between using AC or DC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
