Hey guys, been a while

Was in my basement and had some time to kill
My Macdonald instruments box was dead when I bought it, it would power up for 1-3 seconds and die, none the less I paid $$

Well, I opened the case tonight and to my unpleasant surprise only 1 screw was holding it together-BUT it wasn't loose
Great craftmanship on the box.

I opened her up and found she isn't a virgin box, somebody has been in there and epoxied knobs, and wrote 'notes' on the interior.their repair probably worked for a while, then broke and they thought they would sell it to me

Well too bad for them!

took the pots board down, brushed them and put some curcuit cleaner on them for about 5 min, then turned them back and forth a million times, before they were just hard to turn and now they turn with ease.

then cleaned the power board, and speaker .closed her up, then hopes it wouldn't burst into flames!
BUT it worked! I had sound!!! Before it was DEAD, now she lives :breakdance: :breakdance: :breakdance:

Feels good to get back into the swing of boomboxery :afro:
Bought a Lasonic off ebay today and from JustCruisin :afro:

oh yeah- I put some antenneas from an emerson and jvc on her after the vid, picks up more channels than I have fingers :angelic:

(sorry about the poor lighting)
This will be my fishing boombox if nobody wants to buy her :surf:

good to be back :-)

Got laid off from my job (nice way of saying I got fired)
but I am taking time to do some things I want to do.

During my Hiatus, I bought a 4x4 K10
 aka money pit. got a spare 350 with a race cam, crank and headers  for free from my mechanic friend to replace my doggy 305. and need new leaf springs all around. thinking of 2-3" lift :hmmm:

got a CCDW permit

started cleaning my room, and now am back full swing into boxes

:'-( wasn't happy with just the one screw, or the dinginess of the inside of the face plate
so I grabbed my $3 Sharp X BASS box and harvested 7 screws to keep my Macdonal nice and tight :-)
So,at 0200 I took it all down again

washed the face plate, cleaned the speakers and tweeters, and polished the chrome up some

Nice work, Chris! Those MacDonald units are pretty good. They don't have the best quality, but they can get really loud!!

Thanks guys!
I am going to take it apart again and put some rubber material between the pot plate and knobs as it originally would have beeen. covering up the nasty inside.

pics to follow.

Out of $$$ right now so paint will have to wait, just need to paint the speaker mounts, they're scuffed pretty bad.

What color should I make the grilles :hmmm:
