Hi All
I am happy to be back after a long absence due to a home renovation. Unfortunately, i return with a sad story as my Sharp VZ2500 has suffered at the hands of unknown tradesman. Ultimately, it is my fault as i should have packed it up. I am kicking myself now, as this little beauty was in sweet condition. It now has a large crack on one side; numerous scratches; a chip on one end that is about to come off; and it is covered in dust, including the crap that came down with the ceiling and plaster dust (that **** gets everywhere). Now, i didn't just leave the VZ out in the middle of the renovation, as it was stored in a back room. Unfortunately, that back room door was left open and everything in there got covered in dust. Someone also sadly must have knocked the VZ over, causing the noted damage. I will post some pictures when i start the restoration process.
Anyway, i am going to disassemble the VZ and give it a good clean. I have obtained the service manual PDF from stereotogo, and dis-assembly doesn't look too tricky. I intend to use Isopropyl alcohol, but am wondering if anyone has any other recommendation for a top cleaning product. I am also wondering what would be a good glue to use to try and fix up the crack and chip. And lastly, what would be a good plastic polish to help with the scratches.
To finish on a positive, my VZ2000 did not suffer and is in top working working order.
Cheers
Jeremy
