Hi Guys,
I bought a vz2000 a few months ago, and have been slowly restoring it.
When I bought it, the usual suspects, tape belts, broken tray, broken aerial I have now all fixed and it is working well on the Tape/Radio Side of things.
I had a friend look at the unit and he found a crack in the original board (I may have done this DOH!) and could not get it to go or power on.
Luckily I sourced someone locally who had a VZ they used at car shows and for aesthetic purposes only. He was happy for me to try the deck in my unit and If I got it working, to swap the units.
This unit at least powers on, and I changed the belts over and all the buttons are working.. just no movement.
Below is a photo of the box I have been restoring and the leaf switch inside.
The switch seems quite corroded.
Should I change it over with the one from the original deck that came with the unit (photo at the end). It appears in better condition. I can't hear any motors moving, but could hear them going in the person who loaned me the deck... seems odd - Could it be something else in the system that won't allow the LP deck to go?
