Hello,

i wanted to listen to my LP with Sharp vz 2000 stereo again, but when i switch over to turntable, i hear and see the headshell moving forward for a moment, you hear the system starting, but then in stops sudenly with a "knock" and the power led is hardly to see. Then i need do switch it off, because nothing else is possible, even switching over to another source.
It seems to me this is some kind of "save mode" but not knowing where to start looking at, i´m asking for some help. It played well about 6 months ago.

But i know how to opening the case etc, thanks to this strip down instructions already :)

thanks for your help!

regards,

No there isn't a save mode on this model, does the tape deck work once you switch it off and back on? 2 possibilities, 1 the power supply is on its way out (it cant supply enough power to start the player) 2 there is a micro switch somewhere maybe the door lock because if you open when playing, the unit shuts off. There is a micro switch underneath the unit which switches the unit off if you pick it up when playing a record. Or the electronic side of the player is at fault, im sorry but I cant help you there as I don't understand this side of the machine.
