Hi all. Just got hold of a fairly tidy Ferguson 3T22 (an AKA of the TEC 4040) and have a slightly odd problem to fix. Just want to try and get some ideas as to where to start looking before I disassemble the thing.
On powering it up the box seems to work, but the volume is very low. It seems fine3 at the moment of switch-on but after a second or so it becomes quite quiet. Also, the LED VU meter only lights during that brief burst of decent volume.
I'm wondering if this could be a power supply issue. Perhaps a capacitor? It happens whether the box is turned on by using the function selector, pressing play on the tape deck or using the power on/off switch.
Unfortunately it hasn't got a DC jack, and I don't have the necessary 8x D cells to test it with!![Blush  ](/forum/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/boomboxery/blush.gif)
Cheers.
