Heyya bass freaks, :dj-party:

As you probably know, I pimp out my grails with massive speakers & FLASHY RGB LED systems. I recently finished my 2nd 777Z with some final tweaks to finalize the sound. Since replacing the outer woofers with 2.3 OHM BOSE MID/BASS drivers I now have all 4 cans matched nicely & running low impedance with about 40+ watts usable output, for almost 3 months now & sounding loud & nasty. It has plenty of bass at FLAT settings on the super woofer controls & the sound is tight, hard hitting on some tracks & lots of detail in the stereo imaging. I have recently, changed out the 6.8uF caps for 3.3uF caps on the tweeters to compensate for the fact that the new outer woofers have a nice even response up to about 5-6Khz. Well, check it yourself.

This is a high quality video of my boombox playing a RAVE/HOUSE classic & should be listened to on a quality set of speakers with decent low bass, preferably a sub-woofer system....

Was just looking at your mod and was thinking it would look cool like all the others without those plastic bars across the outer speakers. Was thinking out loud when I saw this post 😆

They're not just cool, they may also be the difference between damaging the speakers and saving them from damage if the box falls over, but I also think that a GF777-shaped box could look good with the bars and original, rectangular grilles replaced by four round grilles.

UPDATE: I changed the caps back to 6.8uF values because I felt the upper midrange was a bit thin & also added some more LEDs to the bars you wanted to chop off & am quite happy with the results. As you can probably see, I also add side bars to protect the control panel & decks & a bottom center bar to protect the unit from a face plant & it also protects the center control knob for the LEDs & the headphone & mic plugs from bumps, etrc.

Another idea is to tape off the center fins of the outer woofers & paint them a nice contrasting color to make them POP!!!

Something a bit subtle but un-mistakenly different & classy...
