Does anybody know how exactly the Post Office measures a Box? They told me the Box cannot exceed a 108" or else I have to pay a over size Box fee . The 1st Post Office employee told me the Box was 3" too big the 1st time I took it in. I brought it home and reduced it quite a bit. I took it back again it was a different employee and she told me it was still too big but we're not tell me how much.. I reduced the Box again and today I asked my post man if he could please measure it in let me know if it is under the size.. He told me it is still too big and I would have to pay over size for you but would not tell me exactly how they come up with a number.. I have never had this problem before. Can someone help??

It's length + (width x 2) + (height x 2)

So cutting the width or height will make more of a difference than cutting the length

Im trying to send a box to Chris..
Yeah I had fun with sending the C100 to him. I was 1" over and they wouldn't take it, unless I wanted to pay like $150 to ship. I had to take it all out and completely trim one end of the box. But that made it like 3" under so that's cool I guess. Quite the hassle though. Lol.

Must be a big one if you're close to the limit.... hmm... guesses in my head.

Really sorry for the headache Dave, if the postal service cared as much about the package as they do the size requirements, we wouldn't have to pack them like they are being tested at the Bikini atoll.

Yea, right? I almost got away with shipping mine. I prepaid online thinking they wouldn't care, brought it there and she had me bring it in the back since it was so big.

Then she scanned it and said, "Hey, why don't you ship it blah blah(some other thing they offer) cause it would be a lot cheaper."

So I said, "Oh sure, that'd be great!" Then she had me bring it back to the front desk, and then measured it..... that was my demise... then she said it only qualified for freight because it was ONLY 1/2 inch too long or something, making it an inch over the total or something.

Shoulda just said I was fine with my original paid amount. Haha

I understand they have to follow the rules when it comes to size (not the rules of kicking it down the street, chucking it over a fence or through the goal posts!).

I don't even want to ask about shipping the Rexcel :bang:  :'-(
