I just went to USPS to ship my M-60 to Washington from Tn.only 17lbs. and they want $45.00 standard cheapest way!
What the hell? I swear the last box I shipped that was this size and weight was only about 28.00.
Why is shipping so high, has it really gone up that much in the last 6-12 months??!!
I just couldn't believe it.😮

That does seem high maybe the measurements of the box size?. I've switched to FedEx for the most part with big stuff its cheaper usually.

I went to UPS and they want $43.00!
The box is only 24.5" wide and about 14-15" front to back.
It's not oversized,I think it's because it's so far away?
I'm frustrated as prices have obviously gone way up!!😒

Yes they raise price either once or twice a year. Some people assume USPS costs pennies not any more

It is my understanding from customers down south that USPS has been hemorrhaging money for years and although they have raised rates gently recently you were in for a shocker at some point..

We have been hit hard up here in the past 3 years, with the weird thing being it is still cheaper to send some things to parts of the US than within Canada (understanding volumes, etc)

Bill is correct on the label thing though and we do it exclusively for our Ebay items. It can be significant at times but mostly just a few bucks as the people as the post office don't need to take the time to process it. (2 mins, lol).

Ghettoboom, how do your USPS prices compare to UPS there? I don't even bother with UPS anymore, they're exorbitant.

I'm done with UPS period. How long can a package take to send across the country in a horse pulled wagon? wanna find out? use UPS.

I'll go with USPS which is what I usually use but I haven't sold a Boombox that needed to be shipped for at least 9-12 months.
Crazy how much higher prices are now.😮

I've been using FedEx Home Delivery, it's usually cheaper, especially if you do it using Ebay's discount. Also there's a FedEx office right across the road from me.

I don't use Fed Ex or UPS because I only have "satellite shipping stores" near me and they charge and arm and a leg for "Service fee's".

What happens if shipping in the US from member to member hit's the $100 mark per radio? Are we done?

if you think about how much money is spent on one radio over the years being shipped back and forth it gets stupid from a cost aspect ,in the long run you are paying an extra $100.00 on a boombox purchase i say fark that and i'm happy to look elsewhere for radio's or even not look at all. i'll wait till i see them by accident.

That sucks.

Last month I shipped a midsize box all the way to the east coast, 20 lbs total, only $34 FedEx Home Delivery, minus $7 Ebay discount, equals $27.

Of course that's without insurance or signature required, as I don't believe in it, and Ebay doesn't require it anyway unless it's over a certain dollar amount.
