Hi, I just got a boombox I’ve been tinkering with working, but I got one last problem. The belt inside is too loose. Common problem, but the issue is that I can’t change it. It’s as deep into the thing as it can possibly be. I will never be able to change it without cutting cable to take it completely apart and I REALLY don’t want to do that. Any tips if there is any at all on how I could tighten the belt without taking it out?
EDIT: The model name is Sanyo MGT 7

Welcome , it would help if we knew the model of the boombox , might take some work but that's the only way to really fix the problem.

Well it's all switchable, although like you've observed, some are easier than others. As to your question, the answer is no, you can't "tighten" a belt. If it's loose, the only fix is to replace it.
