Recently I bought a new Universal boombox strap from Blu_Fuz and yesterday I got a chance to use it with my Lasonic TRC-935. It's the first time I have used it with this radio.

The 935, 975 and 951's have a really long handle and one of my fears was that if the strap, which attaches to the handle and not attachment points like radios designed for a strap, was to slide towards the center of the handle that it would be come unstable and the radio would slide to one side and basically be a pain in arse to deal with.

But the way it's made, the end of the strap is a noose that cinches tight on the handle ends and holds tight. I know some members have experienced the handles on these Lasonic's breaking and I wonder if this would eliminate that problem...

The beauty of this strap design is it will work with any radio.

Check out this video to see how it all works....

I haven't really been using some of my radio's because they didn't have a strap and I didn't want to carry them long distance....now, any radio in my collection can go on the long haul walks!

TO THE BEACH :surf:

Damn. I may need to make, yet another, purchase from Joe.
Yeah, I got straps for other radio's that had mounts for them and realized how useful they are....I recently noticed I was only using radio's that I had a strap for....But now EVERY radio has a strap!

Hey, way to go, Joe! Instead of a strap for every radio, we just need one now! ;-)

Not a great business model, but a boon for members... :-D

Wonder how long before someone starts re-selling these online...? :w00t:

(Just kidding, Joe!)

Thanks Chris!

I'm glad you like the universal strap and the videos always are fun to watch!

Like you pointed out, the strap can be mounted to the upright mounts of the handle OR to the handle itself. Even when mounted to the handle, the small straps tighten up pretty good and don't slide around.

I appreciate the review .

Maybe not a great business move to sell a strap that fits ALL your radios, but it's fun to mix/match different universal straps with all your radios. You just need to move the 2 smaller sinch straps over to the handle of the boombox you want to use that day. ;)

It's nice to have a universal....but I like the radio's that have the attachment points....No moving the strap between radios (I'm Lazy)....I bought one for every radio that had an attachment!

But this is great for radio's without an attachment point and it works great!

I haven't tried it with the 777 or the J1, which has a shorter handle....not sure how that will work out, gonna have to try it!

Thanks again Joe. I've said it before....if we don't create this stuff for our hobby, who will :-)

Man strapping a 777 is going to be a workout, oh my. Honestly, I know these strap handle loops are made to fit all boxes but I havn't tested the strength of the smaller rivits. Please be careful Chris.

The Blu-Fuz disclaimer states...

Using these straps on ridiculously heavy boxes such as GF-777's, Wheely's, HK9000's, Studio 1's, ISP-SC800's and the like is done...

AT YOUR OWN RISK!

However, testing using a couple of CMU blocks is certainly acceptable!
