Well my latest folly arrived today. Initial inspection shows I'm missing a few bits but I will make a wanted post about those. The box itself is actually quite clean, I'm just a bit upset by the hole smashed in the tuner glass. Not sure what that will be like to repair or replace..

Solid find. There is a guy breaking down Lasonic's on eBay, he's always got the sticker pieces and bit, maybe hit him up and ask him about that tuner piece

Yeah I've talked to the seller already - got some lower deck buttons from him - and he said he doesn't have many pieces left.

The tuner scale is printed on the plastic window so repairing it might be tricky. I'm hoping that the broken piece is lying around inside the box :-)

Powered up this evening. Line in works well with a CD input, radio operates but nothing coming through - the band selector is freely rotating so we have an issue there. Yet to test the tape decks.

Right tweeter is out but that will be the crappy one capacitor crossover gone dry. Volume is very scratchy and sound level meter maxes out easy - time for deoxit !!

Haven't had much time this week to play with the blaster but should have things happening this week so I might throw up a 'restoration' thread to document process. I'm definitely going to use my experience gained in hifi repair to modernise the sound of this beast - I'll be using film caps for crossovers and also quality caps in the power supply and audio path.
