Trivia, Which Vintage Boombox uses 12D batteries?
I have one and I had this boombox for 4 years now and never knew it needed 12D to carry out.
I was ready to take it out today for a walk to the handball courts when I slided 10D there was 2
more empty spaces for batteries. A very weird boombox if you tell me and even heavier with that many batteries.

Is this gorgeous Crown SZ-8801, I don't know why they did it to power up with 12D but if youzoom in the pic you can see where it says 12x15volts, Plus there is space to not only for the ac cord but for a few cassettes to carry on.

Sony FH7 also takes 12-D batteries.

I never had a FH-7, But I heard they are very powerful in sound and heavy as well.

But how does it sound? What would you compare it to?

It sounds good not bad, Defeanetly nothing like the Rotel but let me see It is a Crown and it does sound better than the Crown SZ-5100 .
I compare it to the G.E. BlockBuster or the Panasonic RX-C60.
