Went on a 12 hour road trip to visit mom along with the wifey and the baby... we always choose to go through the Andes instead of the long way... we took these pics around 5AM (we left the house at 4AM) when we were reaching the highest point which is around 3,550 m.a.s.l. about 11,600 ft. (ears were poppin') heheh... but we really enjoy the trip and the scenery. Just let me know whenever you'd like to visit and I'll take you either bike trekking, canyoning, rock climbing, rafting, whatever except skiing, no skiing here.

Here are a few pics... In the wee hours...

Very nice! That mountain range is killer. I've been on both Mt Aconcagua in Argentina and Mt. Illimani in Bolivia.
Great pics SB!

Woa! Mt. Aconcagua is double the altitude of these roads, it's right in between Chile and Argentina right? In fact, the highest in all the Americas! Awesome! Did you get altitude sickness (mal de páramo)? It's very common due to the lack of oxygen and high atmospheric pressure. Thanks for the comments Z.

Yeah, its the highest but I wasn't anywhere near the summit! But while in La Paz we traversed the mountains by pick up trucks and it's very intense.
I'm talking about shear drops. Very scary.
