I was so shocked when this thing arrived today...never expected it to be that MINT. It is probably the best box I own now :drool:
Everything works but the tape deck is stuck. Will get that sorted sooner or later...thankfully the buttons react and I hear life inside. :yes:
Damn, I need some Sake to recover form that mint shock :lol: . Really did not expect that from the crappy photos I got of the unit :lol: :w00t:

Hi Max, nice one !!!!
I just love mine, a really top quality box.
Hopefully you can sort the deck, just be careful that the middle gear that is moved by friction with the deck is not gunked up with grease or some such.

Was this a japanese import did you win it on Yahoo ?

Ah, with a blaster of this kind, I will not tinker with it myself - especially not after hearing everywhere how difficult the deck is on the S90. This will go to a workshop some day and they can rebelt it.
I have seen the deck in my previous S90 which I sold and it is really not something I want to tinker with ;-)

Yes fair enough Max, was it an import ?
Mine came through in absolutely mint condition too and I felt lucky to a certain extent since you always take a bit of a gamble on those.

The deck is not a bad deck to work on at all as long as the electronics are all good.
It shares the same mechanism as your newly found RTS93.
I have noticed one thing since I had 2 S90's at the same time and that is there are diferent versions of the middle cog part that moves with centrifugal force. My mint s90 was sticking so I swapped it with the one from the other s90 and it worked perfectly. It fit into the hole better, looser and works flawlessly. Just bear it in mind when you speak with your teccy :)

Yup, it is from Yahoo :yes:
I really do not want to mess with it for now though. I have seen that gear in my S93 and it sometimes does not really go in place quickly but only after a while. However,the S90 deck fast forwarded just fine :yes: and rewind worked too :thumbsup:
The only problem is that the head is in up position :-/
The tech will know how to open the case without damaging the tape mechanism while the head is up.
