And what's with the surround sound idea? On a Walkman? OK, so one earplug goes in the left ear, one earplug goes in the right ear, where do you put the rear channels and the sub?

I have never understood why collectors, who pay high $$ for their chosen item to collect, are shocked when a collector of something else pays big $$.

It's virtual surround and uses DSP to time delay signals, check out the Sennheiser Lucas to get a better idea of how it works.
By the way a sub is omni directional and can't be "surround sound" as it can never have a defined position within the setup, the subs job in a system is bass management.
