Great units!!!! Good scores!

The buttons, VU deck and speaker layout on that Panasonic looks like an awfully lot like an RX-5150, but older perhaps... what model is it?

And that Hitachi is very interesting... Never seen that before...

Do they all work?

SUPER hot scores, Rich!!
Really well done! Finding that Hitachi complete must be a very hard task.

Well done indeed!

What's broken on the Panasonic?

Rock On.

Ok, the Sony works fully, the Big Panny 5150 needs a main belt, aerial and some TLC. (and a reeeeealy good clean)
The Hitachi, both decks need belts, tuner and amp work 100%.

Here's the thing though...both Hitachi walkmen and tuner unit can take 2 AA batteries, but the main unit is AC only....

This is not technically speaking a boombox??? Or is it??

although I have never seen one of those Hitachi's in person, I think they are SUPER cool. Amazing all those pieces stayed together all these years!

Great find!

Very nice finds! One of those Hitachis was on eBay recently, but it was missing one of the walkmans. Situations like that are depressing because the likelihood of finding the missing walkman is nil.

Having a complete one =

Yeah, it's just as sad as my Lasonic K-398 with one speaker. Everything works fine, but I only found it with one speaker (yet another reason I love one piece boxes!) I still have it, HOPING I will come across another.....FAT CHANCE!

I really like the removeable parts Hitachi boombox.

Someone once said to me about these 'removeable module' boomboxes, and I have always wanted to see one.

Now I have!  :w00t:

Thanxx.

Thanks for your kind thoughts guys....

The seller wanted AUD$55 for the Hitachi, and AUD$35 for the 5150, I waved $50 and got them both, too easy.

I will strip the Hitachi and clean it, will post pics of the process....

Now, just to find more room to store them....now have over 30 boxes and room is getting tight..... :w00t:
