I am amazed everyone has been silent about the loads of "Dr.Nuse89" painted boomboxes all over ebay now- surely someone has an opinion of these? I have mixed feelings, honestly- On one hand, it looks like a blatant sell out trying to capitalize on "Artistic expression".... yet I have to admit some look cool- But what of the value of the box? I don't see a lot of money being poured out to the seller... :hmmm:

Here is one example- to see others, just type "dr.nuse" in the ebay search box. I think there are 14 different ones listed now.

Having both a keen interest in the graffiti culture and the boombox culture I must say I have mixed feelings also. Although I am only starting to understand boomboxes on a better level, I dont think any of the painted radios are grails? and many of them were not working anyway. Although it would be great to have them 100% working it is still a unique art piece and showing love for the boombox-it could of been scrapped! I am fine with them as long as its not taking away a grail. I do not really think its a sell out move though. I too would also be interested in what others think of them?

I don't about the ones on epay kind of makes me think what happen to hip hop in the 80's where they commercialized it to make a buck. :hmmm:

I like what he's doing, but he should use better boxes. Doing it to a cheap, bare-bones mono is kind of like dressing up a 100-hp Honda Civic. No matter how nice it looks, it's still a Civic.
