This should be an easy question... Tape belt?

Okay, so I have put more play hours on my Magnavox Power Player today than normally because of the snow (stayed in the house ALL day...) and about 4 hours in, noticed a high pitch screeching sound whenever I press play, or stop/eject. I suspect the belt is going bad since this is probably the longest I've played this thing since I got it, but wanted to get an idea before I get my guy to take a look at it... Thoughts anyone? :hmmm:

Good news is I have this minty (but heavy) Aiwa CA-30 I procured from Skippy to play now!

Definitely a dirty record switch (the internal one). Try pressing REC/PLAY then STOP, REC/PLAY then STOP, REC/PLAY then STOP, multiple times and the squealing should go away.

If you feel really frisky, you can open up the unit and spray the internal record switch with some DeOxit and manually work it back and forth.
