Had a homeowner (Fred) in Cambridge call me today about a roof leak from a light snowfall this morning. When we went inside he said it showed up in his office on the 4th floor. We went up to take a look and I spotted this:

I'm very sorry for the terrible pic - My Galaxy S4 takes virtually unacceptable pictures.

He told me it is THE GF-8585 from the Big Audio Dynamite album cover.

He then proceeded to tell me he was working for the record company at the time and showed up shortly after the album cover shoot. He saw it sitting on the floor and asked someone who's it was and someone told him to keep it - he's had it ever since.
He also told me his HVAC contractor offered him $300 for it over the summer. Fred told him it's not for sale.
Just thought I'd share - Most people I deal with around here would pay someone to remove it from their multi-million dollar home.

I would put that box on a nice display with that very same photo.

That box has a history and that's what I would have done to it.

Pretty cool paint scheme.

He actually keeps it on the desk because he told me he uses it pretty much every day and he said it works fine. He does have a framed glossy of the album cover hanging to the right of the desk, which I didn't take a picture of. I told him to let me know if it ever gives him trouble, which they all do sooner or later.
I meet with him a few times a year to inspect the roof, so I'll try to snap a better pic the next time I'm inside the office area.

Wow, what are the chances of that?!? That's pretty cool, and I agree, a piece of history.

Cool to hear he uses it often.
