Not sure if this topic has already been but anyway. I am talking boxes that should of had two aerials instead of one. One that springs to mind is the gf 9000, it would of looked much nicer with two. Share your thoughts guys and add boxes if possible :-) pic shown is of my old one, not the best but it gives an idea  036.jpg

I'm fine with taking some flack for this, but I don't mind the one antenna look. But only if it's at an angle, straight up, yeah it's not great.

But to clarify, yes I do like two better. On small to medium boxes I think they can get away with one though...

I agree, the 5600 would be a good example

Yes it isn't so bad on the smaller boxes, but I can't imagine the gf9191 with just one :-)

I've never seen a GF-9000 with a chrome strip across the top edge, Arron! :hmmm: Was it an add on?
Well spotted..... I have never even noticed it Luke, I got it off Reno aka RadioRaheem, maybe he could tell you. It looks like it goes right round the tuner window if you look closely

I agree two antenna's should be standard equipment---perhaps two different types/styles?
along with some type/style in/on the box cassette storage-- i have seen photo's of cassette storage drawers on some more obscure boxes.....

I agree with storage, so many boxes have removable cords, but nowhere to put them when you're on batteries, and there's usually enough room, why couldn't they put a little storage in some more of these.

Very true--
Trying to find a place to keep power cords to the correct box is something i am finding to be difficult..when using or displaying....
We need to add that to the design parameters of the perfect box...

The rare Sharp GF-990G needs 2 antennas!
I feel that any Boombox with SW should have 2!

The cord thing gets me to, if you are using it with batteries then you have to put it somewhere.I usually write the model on a piece of tape and attach it to the cord.

I'm going to adopt that idea---thanks very much---

I have used a wide elastic on my Technics removable cords on other audio gear, no sticky residue after awhile. Ya might have to re-write the info after awhile tho..

one that springs to mind straight away is the one in my avatar, the 8600 hitachi-it definately should have two-its no excuse on hitachis behalf, when they fitted the 8190 and 8290 with twin aerials around the time of the 8600,but one on its top line model???? :hmmm:
