I have a friend who has the 505, which looks just like your picture...they have good sound and very solid bass for a small box...sound doesn't travel well outdoors but is an excellent indoor box...

One of my buddies father in law bought one of these units so he could show up my m70 I'd bring over when they'd have bonfires in the fall.
He was all smiles and said I got you beat, then after the A/B comparo, he put the Sony back in the house.

Love it Z, the M70 can certainly hold it's own. 
For a modern box these Sony's don't seem to bad though.

A pretty good sounding, expendable box, perfect for everyday use. Decent thumping bass. Great for throwing on a CD (something you can't do with a vintage boomer) when you're working in the garage or sitting on the porch, watching the neighbors go by. I have a similar one that I keep on the floor, next to my recliner, so I can play a tune or two during TV commercials.

I was trying one in a store and the right speaker wasn't working. Tells you how good they're built.
