A nice day in Sydney today, a day off work, son in day care, wife at a conference......... Boomboxes................
Been collecting for about 2 years now so I thought i'd put up updated pics of my radios. All these are keepers, there's a couple of beaters in the loft for spares and a couple of new minis in the mail but this is pretty much everything (until tomorrow when i might just have the best boombox purchasing day ever. If all goes to plan there could be a couple of big radios coming home!!!!!!! I'll post in 24hours.......... :-D )
Anyway, here it is. Thanks go out to everyone on the forum for advice, laughs, friendship and the opportunity to access many radios I would never have found anywhere else.
This collection wouldn't have been possible without the help of (in no particular order): Terry, Glucifer, RedBenJoe, Sinister, BadboyBill, Blasterpunk (Where's that radiotone???!!!), Llopez, Bmoney....... :thankyou:
No radios were harmed in this photoshoot :-)

The head count

I'm pretty sure you all know what most of them are so I wont bother naming them :breakdance:

All of these boomers with the exception of 3 are fully functional. The VZ only works on one channel  , the TRC 920's tuner does not work and the Panny rx5700 needs some work on the tape deck which i'll get my tech guy to sort out. With the help of the forum many of these boxes have been saved from landfill and that can only be a good thing, RIGHT? Bring on tomorrow............... :-D

Wow Alfie im watching closely what you got and was drooling after all new catches. I just can say - splendid set of boomers. Love the way and style of your collection    . And to see em all together is total joy  . Thanks for making my day (it is 10,30 in the morning here). So my day will be perfect after that  .
Good luck whit next catches. O yea, and dont get mad on Peter - he is one of the best dudes on the planet and i saw how busy is he whit all those enormous count of boomers and in hunt for new ones so its not the quickest shipper, but is THE best one. Better slow and satisfied than fast and disappointed  . He is looking after any small detail and thats making him slow in the people eyes. But dude he is saving us all in any situation  .
One more - one of the best set of boxes on the planet you have there  . Happy for you :-) .

Readers Digest Boombox? Never heard of such. Is that for listening to audio books on?

(always wanted 3 feet high and rising on vinyl, now I really need it as I didn't know they did a printed version)

Ya, that readers digest box looks very similar to the crown 950, except yours has VU meters instead of leds, and square speaker covers instead of round.

You have one hell of a nice collection. what an inspiration.

Outstanding collection!!     :hooray:
:agree: Those are some of the nicest boxes around. I would probably lose my life trying to choose my favorite of your collection, but the GF-8080 and the Bolt box are beautiful.
