Ira and Stormseven got it!!! I knew Ira would get this-The Sanyo M9998,
these boomers look sophisticated but yet have brute power when you
need it!! :surf:

I'm playing with the FM and loving the green lights that stay on and just
love those red led's!

Max,wish I had the SK-900,have the 550,750,but no 900-yet! :-D

Yes these things are beasts and have beautiful sound and probably
the best wide circuit I've ever heard on a boomer!!!
Yay Ira,got it immediately!!!! :surf: :choco:
His winnings will be a special Lennox Sound egg with a crack in it's
stomach!! Alright, that's not fair,I'll donate my ultra rare
gold edition JWin egg!! :-O :surf:
Stormseven, you get a Discolite from Madonna with 7,000 led lights!!!! :choco: :w00t:

sophisticated, but not brutish

Hi Reli, these 9998's have some brute power and bass when you crank
em' up! :-O
Really sweet separate stereo sound but nice bass when beefed up past
6 on the volume!
Local/Distance,MM MC phono adjustments, covers for the inputs
and microphones even!
Plus one of the only boomboxes that has a lit-Up cassette window!!
Love these things,I have 2.
Have a good one. :-)

Hmm, well I have one and love it, but I don't agree about the bass......The low-volume bass is weak, especially on radio. Maybe one of the amps is shot, I don't know. Honestly my Crown 850 has more bass.

:agree: my 9998 has very good bass at all volume levels :-)

I'm planning on doing a full resto on my 9998K including new belts, new caps etc.

For interests sake, I pulled a few caps from a working 9994 the other day. After testing them with a meter, they were all way out of spec!! I think there are a lot of crap sounding quality boxes out there that really need recapping to regain full health! I will put an update up when I'm finished. I'm using the same brand of caps that Sanyo used originally.

What is low volume to you? On this box I'm talking 2 or less. And the bass is kinda weak on those volumes.

What I do with most of my boxes is leave the Loudness on, the bass at max, and listen at low volume, while sitting right next to it. Boxes like Aiwas and Telefunkens are great at that. Not this box.... the volume needs to be turned up.

I was tempted to buy yours to see what it was like, but didn't want to deal with re-selling it.

I will keep mine forever, as it's one of the most unique boomboxes and looks badass with the microphones, but if I want bass I use something else.

I listen to mine same way. Low to mid volume ;-). I did video on all my Sanyo's maybe you can tell in it :-)

Yes mine is beautiful to listen to especially low to mid volume.
Nice bass all the way up like Bill says.
This box screams quality!!

A tank even without batteries, just love the feel of that cassette door,
Looks like bullet proof plexiglass and closes like a Mercedes! :surf:

These damn things are special! Mine still needs to have belts put on
just don't have the guts to try to replace these yet. :hmmm:

I have 2,one get's a little better receprion than the other but still both
pull In stations with stereo light, just one get's better signal strength.

AM reception is ok but not as strong as other makes of this quality.
I love these crazy sausage boomboxes with their signal schematic
Printed on top. :-)

I know Ira and Ramon love them,Ramon had his K model at the meet! :surf:
