Hi everyone-Now I know I already did a review on mine but I just had to say some more about it!
The tape deck on this is so powerful-It truly is about the same in output as the radio and with a store bought or normal tape!
I got a great one in very good condition from a lady in Canada!
It has such great bass and is so nice looking,I've been booming mine today!

I only have 1 or 2 small I mean small issues with mine.
The tape speed is slightly slow-new belts soon but may need a small motor speed tweak. But it is close.
I cleaned it all really well and all functions work great on the tape deck.

The timer on the front needs to be pushed down or there is a slight hum otherwise it's fine if you keep it pushed down with something. That's when playing a tape.

I love the bass and it's just overall a superb box-yes it even comes somewhat close to the 9998 but not as loud.

Bobby-You need to get one of these!! Jaetee & Norm I think will agree-yes I know they will.

I'll have to use it more this weekend & then rotate into another boomer.
One small thing-I wish the VU's on the bottom had lights but the clock has 2 lights & the dial 1 but I still love this box!!
Have a super weekend-GB. :-)  :breakdance: :choco: :stereo:

Hey Jeff. Far as I know, there is no speed adjustment for the tape mechanism on the M9990. The M9994 -- yes.

i wonder norm if the motor could be changed for an adjutable one..... :-)

Yes, the deck mechanism is virtually identical to the M9994 so I'm sure that an M9994 motor would fit. In fact, I'm sure many standard motors would fit. But the factory one has no tape speed adjuster built into it, and the service manual prescribes NO procedures to make a tape speed adjustment.
