Well, I wasn't expecting this from the Postman today, what a very pleasant surprise - and no, I didn't have a rip-cord on my dressing gown! :w00t: :-D

I helped a member in a small, even tiny - nay, a teeny-weeny way and with all the kindness befitting a Most Worthy Boomboxery member and Community Champion Extraordinaire, he surprised me with a thank you gift in the post which I received today. My gob being suitably smacked I opened the box with all the uncontrolled excitement and boundless energy (well, it was for me :-D ) of a child at xmas helped along by a smile that went from ear to ear!

I didn't help for reward or favour but, dear me, I am so appreciative of the first ever BB given to me in my life (although I'm only 27yrs and 447 months old  :-D ). I wasn't expecting anything, Never mind this:

In his previous thread on this delightful mini, Nickeccles never mention how heavy this little sweetie is, it's far more weighty than I expected it to be and................all the excellent qualities of this box do not disappoint.

So, form me, it's a BIG "Thank You" to Nickeccles for such a wonderful gift!   :thankyou:

Ah Christine you're so welcome (sorry about the handle mount but the plastic guides on left side have worn away & anyway it doesn't affect the stereo) :-)

Was great to talk on the phone - revealing that you are as crazy as the rest of us here & have such a genuine interest in boomers!!

As I said to you, many have said what a great member you are here (Oooer Missus - I'm here all week! :-D etc) & after helping me out completely out of the blue, I just knew you would like a little surprise!!

Guys, this lady is a star & a delight to talk to.....................made my day to chat on the phone!!

Keep in touch Christine am always here anytime :-)

What - you tell me about a dodgy handle mount after I've carried it???!!! :w00t: (rushes away to the aforesaid item.....................................) Nah, that's absolutely fine (as if I'd whinge anyway!), if it needs a non-technical repair then I'm game. (oo er, Misses! :-D )

Many thanks once more for such a considerate gift, if my house burns down it'll be the first BB I grab - well, after my Gf-9000 of course, along with my best turntable, a couple of music centres, my cat, a cup of tea to see me through................. :-D

Thank you also for the compliments, I enjoyed the chat very much. It's a rare thing for me to chat to someone else about BB's who doesn't thing I'm boringly insane. :-D

Score: Friendship 10/10! ,

That's awesome!. This happened to me 3 times.I still have all 3 boxes. If been lucky to meet a few members and speak on the phone ,brings home the reality of being a member here.

HA! Hoby is a very strong and muscular cat so I'd probably let him carry the GF-9000 out so I could concentrate on my rescued cuppa! :-D
