I want to share funny story that happened to me.

I found some Junk sale place, where 2 guys selling lot of items. When I came in, there is 2 sharp GF-515 in closet. Other items are mostly soviet radios and audio. That Sharps are putted so nice and high, that I thought, sure it is best items here, and they will want some serious money for that. And when I asked the price, they said that it must be putted on weight, and pay 2$ per 1kg. I thought that it was joke. So it is very funny because, every Japan or non Soviet brand have 1000x more quality and less weight than the Soviet bricks. So Im thinking it is the olny place in the planet where good things are cheap and Bad Bricks are expensive.

I took that 2x GF-515s and gave around 30$. That was one of happiest days of my collector life. I enjoying to find something that good.

Now Every week Im checking that place. I notified and pleased them to not destroy any audio device, so I could check them before that. But last week I found some destroyed National Rx series boombox. They just broke it to took some parts. maybe 2-3 transistors. I didnt understand the reason at all.

So I must check it more often... To save some good boxes if possible.

Definitely a different way of pricing electronic goods...should be able to get a Walkman for pennies!

The local Goodwill outlet has moved to that kind of pricing - $1.29 per pound. Some vintage electronics will be pricey now. Previously, all electronics were $3.99 plus tax.

I was surprised when I went into that Habitat for Humanity ReStore where I live they had a vast selection of decent Electronics in there I couldn't believe it I keep my eyes out for boomboxes though and the prices are actually reasonable . I'm just waiting for that lucky score. I've negotiated prices in there and they actually took my offer. I bought a nice calculator for a buddy of mine cuz he likes calculators.
